Professional Development Award Request for Sociology
Professional Development Awards provide support for students to attend major professional meetings at which they present an original paper based on their research at UT. The Department of Sociology also provides funds for research related activities.

You must be registered at the University of Texas at Austin during the semester in which the funds are to be used. Registration for the prior spring semester will fulfill this requirement for the summer semester unless you have graduated.

If request is for Conference travel, attach the following required documents in PDF form before submitting the form:
  1. Copy of your abstract
  2. Evidence that your abstract has been accepted for presentation (copy of the email, letter, or meeting program)
 
Once the form is submitted, please contact the Graduate Program Administrator to notify them that you have done so.

Below, please upload your abstract and evidence of acceptance as two separate PDF documents. Please include your name in the file name (ie, YourName_Abstract.pdf, YourName_Acceptance.pdf).

For evidence that your abstract has been accepted by the conference DO NOT upload an entire conference program, only the page with info about your presentation/panel/poster session. A screenshot of an acceptance email or conference program works too, but you must save as a pdf before uploading.
