Did you know that students who study computer science perform better in other subjects, excel at problem-solving, and are more likely to attend college? Now is the time to help your students become a CS superhero!

Code.org is the most used and most popular provider of CS curriculum, recommended by 99% of teachers surveyed. Designed to be engaging for students of all levels, Code.org courses span a K-12 computer science pathway. No experience is necessary—in fact, most of the 100,000+ teachers who’ve participated in the program had no computer science experience coming in.

The University of Texas at Austin in partnership with Code.org are pleased to announce that applications for 2025-2026 Code.org CS Professional Learning Opportunities are NOW available. This process is appropriate for teachers participating in the WeTeach_CS Secondary Certification Hubs as well as educators and districts independently looking to sign up for training.

Abundant scholarships for Texas teachers are available for the following curricula:

The Texas Education Agency also has funding via the LASO Cycle 3 grant to support AP CS Principles programs (details here.) This application closed on December 13, 2024.

With Code.org’s Professional Learning program for Middle School and High School, you can access their full network of support to implement computer science in your school by next fall. In this program, you will:

  • Attend a 5-day in-person or virtual summer workshop to get familiar with the curriculum, features, and teacher tools dates and locations

  • Collaborate with your regional cohort of teachers and get the support of a nationwide online teacher community

You must have a Code.org account to register for the training.  Please go to this link to create an account if you do not have one:  https://studio.code.org/users/sign_up.  Once you have created your account, submit this application.

After you have attended the training, your account will be upgraded to a verified teacher account giving you access to:

  • Student assessments and surveys

  • Example solutions and answer keys

  • The ability to leave feedback for students on levels

  • Teaching tips
