Every member of the program must have a professional mentor with whom they talk at least once a month. This mentor must currently hold or have held a position that required them to lead others in a formal organization or setting. Mentors can come from inside the university or from the community and can be from any field. In general, most mentors will have supervised others as part of their jobs, though the leadership could have happened without direct supervision. Faculty can be considered for these roles but only if they have held significant administrative appointments (e.g., department chair, program director, dean, etc.).
If you are admitted to the program, do you agree to find a mentor before the start of the fall semester who meets all of these qualifications?
