Upskilling is assisting incumbent workers in acquiring skills to advance into middle-skill jobs, particularly those in high demand for their employers.

Upskilling looks like:

·       providing your employees with tuition assistance

·       offering onsite training to build their skillsets & their value to your company

·       sponsoring an apprenticeship that allows employees to earn while they learn and skill up for your high demand roles.

Whether you already upskill, or you want to add upskilling to your talent solutions toolkit, you can contribute to the regional goal by aggregately reporting your upskilling efforts.

The Ray Marshall Center at UT (RMC) is administering this annual survey where you can anonymously report the number of employees that you upskill each year.

You will be asked to provide the following data for Year Two (October 2018 through September 2019) and recommend you have available prior to beginning the survey:

·       # of employees accessing employer sponsored education & training

·       # of upskilling employees who completed their education this year

·       # getting an upskilled job/career advancement

·       # earning below $45,000 annually before earning a credential/ degree

If you have any questions please contact upskilling@wfscapitalarea.com. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete with the prepared aggregate employee information and must be completed in one sitting.

The following two questions ask about the same group of people in the last three questions, but only those who were earning below a specific threshold in the year prior to receiving upskilling training sometime between October 2018 and September 2019.
